MSMK® Nonstick Crepe Pan with Spreader

This is such an awesome pan! It can be used on the stove top, in the oven, and even under the broiler (up to 700 degrees – placed at least 2 inches below the heat source). When you first get the pan, you need to season it.

It is a little confusing as to how to clean it after use. In the included instruction book it says to only use warm water and a towel, and to not use any soap on it. And if it has any stuck on food, you are to rub salt on it to lift the food. But in another spot within the book it says it can be cleaned in the dishwasher, or hand wash it in hot soapy water. So, do you use soap or not?

As to its use, you can use the pan for so much more than just crepes. I am always buying blintzes in the frozen food section at the grocery store. I can make them from scratch in this pan as the batter for it is similar to crepe batter. The size of the pan is perfect to fry up a couple eggs. You could fry a hamburger or a piece of fish in it. There is just so much you can do with this pan.

There is a lifetime warranty on this cookware line except when damage is done to the nonstick surface (tuff limestone coating made with artificial diamond, silicon and ceramic) caused by overheating or scratching. I expect to have and use this pan forever!

I’ve personally never made crepes at home prior to this, and figured why not. I’m happy I added this pan to my collection and find that it can be used for a variety of foods (tortillas, pancakes, eggs, and of course crepes). The pan has a non-stick coating that may require further seasoning/treatment after use and washing. The included pamphlet recommends hand washing versus the dishwasher to prevent the breakdown of the non-stick coating. However, this is easily fixed through reseasonning the pan. I’ve washed it in the dishwasher twice, and prep with a very small amount of butter, and have had no issues with sticking. I found it very easy to use, has a nice weight to it, and the size is perfect to make about 6-7 medium sized crepes. It did include a wooden spreader, but I found it unnecessary due to the size of the pan, and just a hand/wrist swirl moves the batter out to the edges.
Overall, I feel this is a good quality pan, that as long as it’s used properly will likely last a lifetime (if not, there is a product lifetime warranty).

I wouldn’t have gotten this non-stick pan if it didn’t say it was non-toxic. I’m not exactly sure how it is non-toxic but I have been avoiding teflon products for decades. It’s amazing how easy it is to clean. I don’t put it in the dishwasher and I wipe it dry before putting it back in the shelf with the other pots and pans. It’s a little on the small side. It is perfect for smaller pancakes and crepes, though we’ve also used it for eggs, rehashing potatoes, etc.
