Why do you need a lid for nonstick frying pan?

Slow Melting Syndrome is when outer crust perfection is achieved before the sandwiched cheese has adequately melted.
By covering the pan with a lid, you concentrate the heat and coerce the cheese into melting a little more quickly. The bread, in contact with the hot pan, toasts at the same rate. To avoid any potential sogginess from steam trapped under the lid, I leave the top off the sandwich, cover the pan until the cheese is melted, then add the top and finish the sandwich as usual, uncovered. Works like a charm.

Many years ago, I had a small egg pan that was great for making omelettes, but you had to hold it steady on the burner with one hand, so it wouldn’t fall over backwards and spill fresh beaten eggs all over the stove top. After time went by, the non-stick coating started to wear off, and that pan lost it’s effectiveness. After several years of searching for a replacement I finally found the best small omelette pan on Amazon.
During the pandemic, so many restaurants here in Michigan was closed. This was especially true of the many Japanese izakayas in the Metro Detroit area. Having spent a lot of time in Japan, I have come to love Donburi “rice bowl” food. One of my favorite entrées is Oyakodon, which is chicken, egg and onions severed over a bowl of freshly steamed rice. Believe me when I say it’s more than nice.
In order to cook a single serving of Oyakodon, you needs a small frying pan that is around 6-8 inches in diameter. The MSMK 7 inch small egg nonstick frying pan looked perfect for the job, and it came complete with a lid. Trying to find small frying pans with lids is a difficult task to say the least. However, MSMK came through with a perfect product, and I was able to cook Gyudon (beef, egg, and onions over rice) as well.
So if you’re looking for a highly versatile pan for frying single egg, omelette, pancakes for breakfast in the morning, then donburi from Japan for lunch or dinner, then this pan from MSMK is for you. The construction is amazing, and it heats so evenly. The best part is that the non-stick coating is really fantastic, and I have no complaints.

The kitchen pans and pot I recently received are the same ones that Emeril the Chef sponsors and sells on TV. Yet I saved money by purchasing the product on a separate website. They are awesome and tough like Emeril stated . We even used the electric handheld blender in the pot just like he showed. Love these guys and gadgets. These make a great addition to my kitchen and getting rid of some old items that need to go.

I really like this set. The weight is good. The quality is good. The only thing I am not crazy about is the lids. They have a rim inside that is very hard to clean. Food, grease, steam, etc gets caught under the rim and really takes some scrubbing to get into the tight crease to remove it.

I bought a small frying pan with a lid last year. Paid less than $20. It was great for making breakfast for one. But it became round bottomed and tilted towards the handle when sitting on the stove. Anything liquid ran to the edge of the pan. Annoying. So, I bought this nice flat, even heating, better quality, pan with a lid. It is twice as expensive as the old pan but 10 times better. Egg stays in the center of the pan! How novel!

It cost more but I have never used a better non-stick egg pan and I have tried many! I use an induction stove and this pan is very inductive and heats quicker that my other induction pans. Must be a good bit of steel in there and the heat is distributed evenly through the whole pan bottom. Perfect size for the one or two egg sandwich! The glass lids works great and made doing steamed ham and eggs a breeze.

I got it to cook one egg, either fried or in a frittata, and this is just the right size. The sloped sides make it easy to slide the egg out. When I’m frying, the cover steams the top so I don’t have to try to flip it. The metal bottom distributes heat well, and the anodized aluminum body is naturally non-stick with nothing to peel off. I don’t have induction yet, but when I do, this will make the transition!

Purchased a year ago. LOVE everything about this pan! I normally buy Calphalon cookware, but decided to take a chance with MsMk, due to much lower price and high rated customer reviews. Happy to say that this pan is everything I hoped it would be, and then some. The non stick surface holds up beautifully. I also like the handle design, size and its coolness to the touch. I honestly can’t find a single complaint. You won’t be disappointed, as long as you use some common sense about not overheating the pan when you cook.

This pan is surprisingly deep, and really a perfect size for a 2 person family. We have an induction range (altho this would work with any type stove), and had bought the 12 inch, which we love. I thought the 10 inch wouldn’t be used much, but I’m putting the 12 inch away. These handles are not just super sturdy, they don’t get hot sitting on the cook top for a while. It works well even for searing, for a stick free pan. The glass lid is durable, and this pan is reasonably priced for its quality.
I highly recommend, and no one compensated me for this review.

Three months use and it has taken the number one spot over my Le Creuset and a non-coated Calphalon for ease of use. Quality construction, good handle, good lid, good rivets. Lightweight material but thick enough to dissipate gas heat. Did not bother to season it. Cannot evaluate surface life span, but no hint of even faint scratches after about 30 meals. I start with a light touch of olive oil, use silicone tools and hand clean. Do not know how it will clean up with seriously burnt-in food.

I bought one of those stone looking pans a year ago. Garbage. Everything stuck. Finally threw it away and tried again. Got this one. I do like a lid so my options were limited.
I made two omelettes this morning. And a three egg and cheese scramble. I do use butter even with non stick. The omelettes flipped with no issue and slid out of the pan onto the plate with ease.

Just got it today. Took it out of the box, washed and dried it, then seasoned it with some olive oil, letting it sit for an hour or so. Ground up my chuck/sirloin/bacon burger concoction. Threw it into the pan, covered it, turned it when it was time, and let it simmer. Beautiful! Tasty! Moist! The worcestershire sauce ground in with the meat tried it’s darndest to burn to the pan but couldn’t. Let it cool. Easily cleaned with hot soap and water. Dried it. Seasoned it with olive oil again and hung it. And if you like a sturdy rather heavy duty pan, one with a good balance and feel to it, and a handle that is both sturdy, functional and elegant in a simple way, without havin’ to spend a fortune? This is the pan! Next step? MsMk 10pc Set.

When I cook my breakfast, I usually used an eight inch or nine inch pan. The first was too small white the later was too big. With MsMk 8 1/2 Inch Small Egg Pan with Lid, I now have the perfect breakfast cookware! It is just the right size and cooks faster than my other pans. It does clean easily which is great. Used this for a few months now, just about every day. Without abusing the pan with cool water when cleaning while it is hot, it is now slightly warped. It un-warps when heated, it does cook evenly. The lid can be difficult to clean: the inner lip around the lid has a gap and will trap oil or other food items. Getting that cleaned is a challenge.

I love this pan! I bought the 10″ and it is easy to flip things like pancakes by just moving the pan quickly forward like professional chefs do. And when I fried bacon, it didn’t curl because it fried up so quickly… very crispy… no fatty parts… and I only turned it over once. My salmon filet was done in 4 min (2 min per side) and a bit of a crisp on each side and so tender in the middle. And no mess. The sides are designed high enough that no grease spatters on the stove. No cleanup! And it’s oven proof. I’ve been using fruing pans for 60 yrs… Best one yet. Weighted and balanced properly too. Some pans are too heavy relative to the length of the handle. This is engineered well!
