MSMK® 7-Piece Wok & Fry Pan Set

I love these skillets. Even the largest, although heavy, is easy to handle. I have had other 12 inch skillets where the handle was so heavy it would cause the pan to tilt on the burner. With these, the handles are very sturdy, but they do not overbalance the weight of the pan, so the pan sits flat on the burner.

The “sitting flat” part of that statement needs a caveat, and that is that the pan is slightly higher in the center than around the edges. For my open electric burner stove top or for a gas stove, that is not a problem. If you are to use these on an induction cooktop, however, I’m afraid the center of the skillet’s bottom would not rest tightly on the burner (or induction plate). In the picture with the salmon, oil can be seen gathered around the edges of the skillet, leaving the higher center free of oil. The slight warping of the bottom is why I rate this four stars, rather than five stars.

Everything else about the pans is five-star quality. When placed on a burner, they heat quickly and evenly and are thick enough to retain the constant temperature. Handles stay cool while cooking, so the pans can be moved without potholders or burning your fingers.

As for cleanup, I have never had pans so easy to clean. The picture of an empty pan is the one I seared and cooked the salmon in. All I did before taking this picture was wipe the pan with a paper towel. Later, a little dish soap and a sponge got it completely clean, but this shows how truly non-stick these skillets are.

Like any non-stick pan, I recommend using some type of protective spacer between pans when storing them. Non-stick or not, the heavy metal bottom of one pan may scratch the non-stick coating on the one beneath it.

I’ve only had these a short time, so can’t speak of how well they hold up over time, but if the manufacturer’s claims are accurate, they survive abusive testing equivalent to years of home use.

If you have any stove type other than induction, I highly recommend these.

This MSMK set includes three sizes of frying pans (with lids) plus a wok that fits the lid for the largest frying pan. I ordered this set because I use non-stick pans most mornings to make eggs and/or crepes. The size I use varies depending on how many people are eating. These pans are very well constructed, with beautiful satin-finish handles on the pans and lids. The handles stay cool to the touch when cooking, which is a nice surprise, and they are riveted, which some people don’t like, but I’ve found over the years that riveted handles hold up better over the long term. I can’t speak to the durability of these pans since I haven’t had them long enough. Eggs slide right out of the pan when cooked, and the lids fit tight enough to easily make basted fried eggs. In my experience, most non-stick pans are great for the first few months, but after that there are real differences in performance and longevity. I hope that at this price point these pans are as durable as advertised! The only thing I don’t like about this set is the shape of the handles, which are squared off more than usual, probably for stylistic reasons. They do look nice, with a contemporary flair, but I prefer the ergonomics of a more rounded handle. By contrast, the lid handles are smoothly finished, among the nicest to hold of any cookware I’ve used. This is a stylish and functional cookware set, and I recommend it.

These are Huge/Gorgeous Pans & look very well made! I spent a long time searching for larger frying pans/Wok since mine were old & were no longer non stick. These pans are very pricey but the reviews made it seem worth it. I’m very happy but I haven’t used them yet. I will definitely update if they don’t work out or hold up well.
